an amusing "conversation"...

student: "ms lim, when is your birthday?"
Teacher: -silence-
student: "ms lim, when is your birthday?"
Teacher: why?
student: " just tell me...ms lim, when is your birthday?"
Teacher: " don't tell you
student: "why... tell me when is your birthday"
Teacher: " stop asking. go back and do your work "
Student: " uhhh... tell me.."
Teacher: " when is yours? "
Student: " 14 january"
Teacher: " - stop whatever she is doing and turn slowly to stare at the student- when is ur birthday again? "
Student:" 14 January, it was a saturday. "
Teacher: " -couldn't believe her ears but is happy to know that her birthday is on 14th!- no, it was on a wednesday "
student: " oh issit? i forgot. so ms lim, when is your birthday? ....."

kids are kids. they are just so innocent.
the student did not wonder why the teacher would remember so clearly that 14 jan was on a wed.
but the teacher smiled (:

can you guess what these are?

haha these are what the kids drew for me!! so heart melting right..! soso sweet! (:

I'm having my 2.5 months of hols now! woohoo!

Just like everyone else, I was hunting for jobs..and then I thought of relief teaching and so i went to register with MOE. It was fast, I got aprroved the following day and I was just thinking which school i should approach. well, sc primary was the first that came to my mind of course, but I thought I should challenge myself even more and go out to a different school. but well.. I still ended up contacting my pri sch laoshi and so yes, I started working the following week! It all just happened fast fast fast! I am very thankful that i got it so fast and of course it was with the help of laoshi..so i didn't have to go through the general office.

so many people have been asking me about my time with the kids so I think it's better for me to type a bit of it here(:
The first thing i wanna say about the primary ONEs is they are SO ADORBALE!!! And seriously, girls ARE GIRLS! They are typical girls!! I'm saying this because they will complain to you about the slightest things like for example " Sally sprinkled water at me! "
The girls also LOVE telling you about EVERYTHING and ANYTHING even if it's so random!
"ms lim.. my mummy gave me $28 to buy books today", " ms lim.. I have tap dance after school today", "MS LIM! MS LIM! I WANT TO TELL YOU SOMETHING *pulling arms and sit on lap " ohyes! they will ask u to help them tell their hair too. Not forgetting to mention that they are RICH KIDS!! this p2 girl was wearing the baby G watch I wanted!!!
haha and there is this particular girl whom I like veryvery much and she stands out from the rest because she is taller and has a rather mature face for a pri one. I REALLY FEEL LIKE TAKING HER HOME WITH ME!!!!

Oh right. two girls cried in class -.- BUT I did not make them cry! I shall skip the reason for the first girl..too long to type. but the second girl came to me and say " Ms lim... leanne hurt my feelings!" omg.. my jaw almost dropped! HELLOOOO you are only primary one and u are already talking about feelings? SO CUTE!! hahaha
one thing about kids is they can cry easily but they will also forget easily too! sometimes I do wish I can be like them.. can easily just forget what made u cry in 15mins! and you'll see her running around with that friend whom "hurt her feelings" ohmy... haha!
so far I have only gone back thrice to relief teach and I have to say it's a really good experience for me. I didn't have to teach much, so far I have only taught english and maths. and i realised being a teacher is NOT EASY AT ALL!!! Therefore, I don't think i wanna be one anymore..?

I'll post again before my school starts and see if my thinking will be different in april(:
I forgot to mention that the teachers were very welcoming. Those who don't remember my name but could still recognise my face are still nice enough to say "welcome back". and for those who still remember me.. they said "JAZREEL!! YOU ARE BACK!" guess what.. I sat next to Mrs Eng who was my PRIMARY ONE form teaching hahaha. she was so excited to see me. Now guess what, we are both teaching primary one. GOSH! time FLIES!!!

I thank God for this opportunity for me to fullfil the little dream I have ever since I was the girl in blue(:

P.S those of you who are thinking of doing relief teaching too, make sure you have the patience for kids and you can control them! or else.. you won't be able to get work done and you will start pulling your hair. I almost pulled mine!
